What’s the right instant hot tap for you?
Instant hot taps come with several extra functions, but you might not use them all. So why not customise your tap to suit your household?
Whether you pick the classic analogue tap or luxury digital tap, you’ll be presented with options to add refrigerated or sparkling water.
To help you choose the right instant tap, we’ll walk you through the key decisions.
1 – Boiling or 98°C?
Brands like Quooker make boiling water instant taps, dispensing at 100°C. Kelen & Willian taps are made to reach 98°C and no higher. If you don’t need 100°C, we recommend 98°C for safety reasons. Pre-boiling water doesn’t bubble, splash and steam as much, which gives you a safer stream.
Read about the difference between 100°C and 98°C instant taps.
2 – Do you want to add chilled water?
Our instant taps (classic or digital) all have these four functions:
a) Mains cold
b) Mains warm
c) Filtered cold water
d) Hot water – at 75°, 85°, 90°, 95° or 98°C.
If you want to dispense chilled (refrigerated) water from your tap, you need an extra tank: the ChillBox.
You can add this to any of the K&W instant taps (just choose it when you’re adding to cart). It could be good for your household if you fill a lot of drinking bottles or drink a lot of squash!
3 – Do you want to add sparkling water?
One more decision to make and that’s whether you would like to add sparkling water to your instant tap.
You can only add this option to the digital tap.
It means adding a carbonating (CO2) cartridge to the under-sink setup. This will need replacing after every 60 litres dispensed.
