Do you really need an instant tap?

It’s a subjective question … like, do you really need a mixer? A juicer? Or an espresso machine?  The answer’s probably no. But an instant tap is one of those kitchen luxuries that soon starts to feel indispensable.

In fact, people often tell us it’s become their favourite thing in the kitchen!

So what’s so exciting about a tap that dispenses water at the right temperature every time?

You’ll find it has lots of practical uses (and some may surprise you). Here’s the highlight reel.

🥘Cooking on the hob. Use your instant tap to save time and energy. Instead of waiting for the hob to boil water, use 98°C to fill your pan and start cooking almost right away.

🫧 Hot water bottles. Use 85-95°C (max) to fill your hot water bottle safely. It’s not just cosy … it might also help you save on heating.

🍴Soaking cutlery and dishes. Use 75°C to soak greasy dishes before loading the dishwasher, especially if there’s a delay between filling and starting it.

☕Coffee.  Most coffee experts agree that 85-85°C is right for brewing coffee in a cafetiere or Aeropress. Using hotter water scalds the coffee grounds and causes a bitter taste.

🍵Green and white teas are best brewed at 75-85°C: a gentle, brief brew produces the best flavour.

🥤 Travel mugs. When you make a portable hot drink, use 95°C for greater safety when you open it.

🍜 Noodles, ramen and couscous. Some noodles and grains don’t need to boil on the hob – you just cover them with hot water and wait. The instant tap makes your noodle prep super easy.
