What temperature does the water reach?
The water temp goes up to 98°C. Our taps operate at this temperature because boiling water creates a higher pressure in the tank and more steam on output, which is not only inefficient (kitchen filled with steam), but also has greater risks linked to scalding.
Can the 4-in-1 tap be installed in my existing kitchen?
Yes! Ask your local qualified plumber. Your tap comes with an installation guide and your plumber can get support from our technician.
What power supply does it need?
The 4-in-1 and 5-in-1 tanks can be connected to a standard plug (13 amp) socket. If adding the optional ChillBox, you’ll need two sockets under the sink.
What are the requirements for fitting smart taps?
You’ll need a standard 13 amp plug socket and water pressure of at least 1 bar. You’ll also need space beneath the sink for the filter and tanks you want (hot tank and optional cool tank). Instant hot water taps shouldn’t be fitted in rooms or buildings where the ambient temperature drops below 1°C.
How much electricity do the smart taps use?
They’re rated at 1500W: at maximum power consumption, that costs around 40p per hour (prices correct in Oct 2025). Because it’s well insulated, the tank’s standby running cost is low (around 3-10p per day).
How much space does it take up in the cupboard?
The hot water tank measures 21 x 21 x 32.7cm – check that you have space below the pipes in your cupboard. There should be 15cm clearance around your tank (and 2.5cm at the back). The tanks are not designed to be used on a worktop
What water pressure is required for fitting the taps?
They need a minimum water pressure of 1 bar (maximum 5 bar). The 4 in 1 Instant Hot Water Tap can be installed using a cold water supply with higher pressure, if a suitable pressure reducing valve is fitted to the pipe.
How do I select the water temperature using an instant hot water tap?
For hot water, you use the left side of the tap, pressing the button, and rotating forwards. If you want filtered cool water, you use the right side (no button to unlock) and rotate it forwards. The lever gives you mains water: back for cold, forwards for warm.
